The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Bill on the National Target Environmental Program on Nuclear Treatment at the First Reading

Pursuant to the Bill (Reg. No.2182), the Program aims at further enhancement of the system and planning of works in the field of nuclear waste treatment for Years 2008-2017.

The Bill envisages creation of a single nuclear waste treatment system that should provide a complete cycle of nuclear waste processing from the moment of origin of the nuclear waste till its disposal. Moreover, such a system should enhance the mechanism for funding the activity related to nuclear waste treatment.
